Install Vela
Vela runs in your browser — there’s nothing to download and no app store to go through. Open the web wallet and you can create or restore a wallet in under a minute.
Open the web wallet →The same wallet, built from one codebase, also runs on iOS and Android. Native mobile apps are coming soon — when they ship, your passkey and wallet carry over, because the account lives on-chain, not in any single app.
What your device needs
Vela signs with passkeys (WebAuthn), so you need a device and browser that support them — which is essentially anything from the last few years:
| Platform | Passkey support | Synced by |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone / iPad / Mac | iOS/iPadOS 16+, recent Safari | iCloud Keychain |
| Android | Android 9+, current Chrome | Google Password Manager |
| Desktop | Current Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox | Your platform’s passkey provider |
For your wallet to follow you to a new device, keep your platform’s passkey sync turned on (iCloud Keychain on Apple, Google Password Manager on Android/Chrome). See recovery & sign-in for how that works.
The only official URLs
Vela is open source, and that’s the point — but it also means you should be sure you’re on the real thing. The only official addresses are:
- getvela.app — this site
- wallet.getvela.app — the wallet
If anything sends you somewhere else to “install Vela,” stop and check against these. The code is public at github.com/mondaylabsltd/vela-wallet.
Next: create your wallet.
